August 12, 2008 - I haven't completely died. My computer was somehow the target of a million little spyware viruses, and as a result, I was forced to reformat. Unfortunately, I don't have Photoshop re-installed yet and I'm missing a few other programs. But once I go back to school, my updates should be more regular.

Lately, I feel like I've been let down by a lot of people and I'm not sure what I've done to deserve their flakiness. If there's anything I absolutely cannot tolerate, it's when people leave you hanging (ie: not returning phone calls, messages, etc) so that you're left in the dark. It's basic courtesy to let someone know where they stand with you (even if it's so much as a polite rejection), yet somehow, these shining individuals seem to have no concept of human decency. Really, it's infuriating because you don't know how to plan to your time, and how to work your schedule out with people being vague. In short, it's not entirely acceptable.

In other news, I'm fighting a virus. Killjoy.

July 9, 2008 - It's been some time since my last update, and that was due to a lack of ftp access. I had full intentions of writing sooner, though =)

Summer has been treating me well. I've managed to go to the beach, hit up a dance club, work out, interview everywhere (and hopefully I'll have landed a job with as a care-taker for an elderly woman), have movie nights, and catch up with old friends. Next week should be quite entertaining, being as my uncle is visiting for the weekend, and I'll have (hopefully) met up with my Riverside crowd. It's only been a month and I miss my roommate desperately.

The other day I was going through my closet when I came upon a bunch of letters that I had received from one of my friends back east. I had completely forgotten that I had saved them, but there they were in all their sarcastic and witty humor. And that's when I remembered why I had saved them in the first place. There's just something wonderful about letter-writing. It's deeply personable and a true expression of one's self. It's almost as if part of them is there with you through a simple composition of ink and paper. Part of me firmly believes that I'll always have a writer's tendency, but it's a tendency I choose not to fight.
